Israel arrests two infiltrators on border with Syria

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) –  On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the arrest of two individuals who tried to cross into Israel from Syria through Golan.

It is the second arrest within two days.

Avichay Adraee, the head of the Arab media division of the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, said in a tweet in the Arabic language that two suspects crossed the border strip coming from Syrian soil, they were arrested east of security fence during a pre-emptive ambush south of Golan Heights.

He added that the two infiltrators were returned to Syria after finishing investigation by security apparatus.

The IDF arrested on Dec. 29 a Syrian after infiltrating into Israeli soil.

The suspect was transferred for further questioning and medical treatment.

The Times of Israel said that IDF waited a day before revealing the arrest of the man, without explaining the reasons.

The IDF usually announces the arrest of those who cross the border from Syria’s Golan including shepherds from Quneitra, according to reports.
