Residents of Syria’s Azaz protest against HTS’ entry to city

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of residents of the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo, staged on Sunday evening a demonstration on the Azaz-Afrin road, refusing the entry of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to their city.

An exclusive source told North Press, “Dozens gathered on the road connecting the cities of Afrin and Azaz to protest against the entry of HTS. The protesters blocked the road by burning tires.”

The source added, “The demonstrators chanted slogans against the HTS, refusing to let an HTS military convoy to enter the city.”

On Saturday, the HTS canceled a military parade after the  people of Azaz protested and blocked roads.

On Friday, the leadership of HTS and Third Legion, an armed faction in the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), made an agreement in which they agreed on the latter’s return to the city of Afrin and its countryside after the HTS took full control of the city a day earlier.
