Turkish forces resume shelling Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Turkish forces re-targeted Syrian government posts two days after targeting the same posts in the eastern countryside of Kobani in northern Syria.
Turkish artillery targeted a Syrian government post located between the villages of Jishan and Qaramogh 20 km east of Kobani.
A military source told North Press that “the shelling left no human casualties.”
On September 18, Turkish forces launched eight air raids targeted Syrian government posts, east of Kobani.
Three Syrian government soldiers were killed by the Turkish shelling at a military post in the village of Jishan, 25 km east of Kobani.
Following the Turkish incursion into northeastern Syria in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities and the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) 32 km away from the Turkish border.
The SDF withdrew from the border areas according to the agreement, but Turkey continues targeting the area.
