Member of government forces killed in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown attacks continue to be launched against members of the Syrian government forces and former members of the Syrian opposition in the governorate of Daraa, south Syria.
On Sunday, unknown individuals targeted Bassam Ahmad al-Mahamid, a member of the Fourth Division of the Syrian government forces, in Daraa al-Balad region in Daraa city, local source told North Press.
Al-Mahamid was transferred to one of the city’s hospital where he succumbed to his wounds, the source added.
Al-Mahamid was a former member of the opposition factions who had settled his status under a settlement agreement reached under Russian mediation between the opposition and the government in the summer of 2018. He joined one of the local groups affiliated with the Fourth Division, according to the same source.
