Joint SDF-Coalition training attacked with rockets in Syria Deir ez-Zor

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A joint training between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS was attacked with rockets in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside, east Syria.

During the training exercise, IAMG rockets were sporadically launched towards the training area in the Conoco Oil Field as well as the Sulahiyah crossing IVO Daz bridge in the area, a source from the Coalition said.

On May 7, the SDF arrested 4 ISIS members with rockets and IED materials in possession in Deir ez-Zor.

The SDF was conducting a joint training exercise with Coalition Forces focused on ISIS sleeper cells along the Euphrates River Valley.

Both al-Omar and Conoco Oil Fields, where Global Coalition forces are present, are occasionally attacked by ISIS sleeper cells and Iranian-backed militias.

A local source informed that IAMGs were arguing about which areas to target is multiple groups launched rockets in a variety of directions.

The lack of communication and coordination put the lives of innocent civilians at risk, the Coalition source added.
