Member of Turkish-backed faction wounded in Syria’s Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Turkish-backed faction of Jaysh al-Islam was critically wounded, on Monday at dawn, in a direct shooting incident by unidentified attackers in the city of Afrin north of Aleppo.

Unidentified attackers, who were riding a motorbike, directly fired Muhammad al-Jazar, a member in Jaysh al-Islam, in front of his house in a neighborhood in Afrin city leaving him critically wounded, an exclusive source told North Press.

Al-Jazar was transferred to the military hospital to be referred then to Turkey, on Monday morning, amidst a state of alert the neighborhood witnessed by members of the faction, according to the source.

Since the Turkey’s invasion of Afrin in 2018, Afrin city and its countryside have been witnessing a state of security chaos, accompanied by explosions and continuous infighting between the Turkish-backed opposition factions, amid the latter’s inability to settle the security there, according to the testimonies of local residents.
