IRGC commander slams Israel, says it will suffer “if not careful”
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Maj. Gen. Hussein Salami, issued a foreboding message to Israel, on Wednesday, warning that it has an “expiration date” and could face missile threats “if not careful.”
The warning came after a meeting the US held with middle east allies in Israel as it hoped to bring them closer and form a state of unity.
“We explicitly declare and warn that the continuation of such relations is not acceptable at all,” Salami said.
“They should know that the existence of the evil Zionist (Israel) regime everywhere is a cause of insecurity.”
“Unfortunately, some regimes in the southern Persian Gulf countries have established political and security relations with the Zionist regime.”
Salami in his address to his troops in Dezful said Iran’s enemies carried an “expiration date,” and Israel will have to “endure the bitter taste of missiles if it is not careful,” according to the Jerusalem Post.
“Be aware that we will not only take part in the funeral of our martyrs, but also immediately take their revenge,” reported Tasnim News Agency quoting Salami as saying.
Salami’s comments came amid rising tension between Iran and Israel.
Last week, the IRGC claimed responsibility for an attack that saw a number of missiles fired at several locations in Erbil capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG), including what it claimed was an Israeli “strategic center.”
The attack appeared to be in retaliation for the deaths of two IRGC commanders (Ehsan Karbalaipour and Morteza Saidnejad) in an alleged Israeli airstrike near the Syrian capital Damascus a week earlier.
