Syria’s Hasakah sees security deployment under integration deal
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Ahmed al-Hilali, deputy governor of Hasakah and spokesperson for the presidential team tasked with implementing the Jan. 29 agreement, said on Tuesday that the security deployment in Hasakah governorate was part of agreed arrangements for the integration process.
Earlier Tuesday, hundreds of personnel from the Internal Security special forces entered Hasakah governorate.
“The security deployment that took place today in Hasakah governorate is a normal deployment agreed upon as part of our arrangements for the integration process,” Hilali said.
He added that the Interior Ministry, through the Internal Security forces in the governorate, had deployed hundreds of personnel to meet security needs, adding that further personnel were still needed.
“This is a very normal deployment, and there is nothing new to mention,” he said.
Hilali explained that Internal Security departments were linked to the deployment of these personnel, including traffic police, tourism police and police stations that were expected to become operational in the coming days after the governorate’s need for security personnel was addressed.
Separately, Hilali said the executive office in the governorate held its first session on Tuesday in accordance with the law.
He explained that the first session involved distributing responsibilities and sectors among members of the executive office, with each member assigned oversight of specific sectors.
“The session was only for distributing responsibilities,” he said.
