Russian-Turkish joint patrol conducted in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police (MP) and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol in the western countryside of the city of Kobani.
This is the 94th patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement.
It is also the second in a row in the western countryside of Kobani, after a patrol was canceled in the eastern countryside of Kobani, last Monday, because it coincided with Newroz Day.
The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, set out from the village of Ashma, 20 kilometers west of Kobani.
It roamed the villages of Jaqerli Fouqani, Qaran, Dimekdash, Khorkhori, Boban, Jolbik) reaching to Tel Sha’ir, 4 Km west of Kobani.
After that the patrol immediately returned from Zor Maghar heading to the east passing by the villages of Binder, Mishko, Jebnah, Qaqoui Tahtani, Qola, Sosan, and Jareqli Fouqani reaching to the village of Ashma.
After that, the Turkish military vehicles entered through the gate near the village, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their center near the town of Sirrin, south of Kobani.
On March 14, Russian and Turkish forces conducted the 93rd joint patrol in the western countryside of Kobani.
