Turkish drones target areas in Syria’s northeast, northern Iraq

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A new Turkish airstrike hit yesterday areas in Derik in the far northeast Syria and other areas in northern Iraq including Sincar and Qara Dagh.

The airstrike wounded four individuals who were transferred to Derik hospital, according to a medical source of the hospital.

The bombardment targeted a power station in the countryside of Derik leaving surrounding villages out of power.

Turkey carries out airstrikes on several areas in northeast Syria under the pretext of protecting Turkey’s borders from “terrorist threats” (But they were none).

On January 21, Turkish drones launched an attack near Shilo valley targeting two vehicles in Shangal (Sinjar), a security source of Shangal, west of the Iraqi Governorate Nineveh, said.

In November 2021, three people lost their lives in an attack by a Turkish drone in al-Hilaliya neighborhood in the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria.
