ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – On Saturday, the Iraqi authorities announced it received 50 Iraqi nationals who were members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) from Syria.
The Iraqi Security Media Cell released a statement saying 50 Iraqi nationals suspected to be ISIS members, whom captured inside Syria in former battles, were handed over to the Iraqi intelligence and the federal investigations in the Ministry of Interior (MOI). Necessary legal measures will be taken against them, the statement said.
The statement said the repatriation was conducted in coordination with the Iraqi joint operation leadership and the Syrian part through Rabi’a crossing border.
