Downed drones show Hezbollah’s surveillance, Israeli army
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement, on Friday, that it had recently downed a drone that Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group flew over the border, which contained secret footages, apparently from the special forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah during a special exercise to operate drones.
“The IDF will continue to act to prevent violations of the State of Israel’s sovereignty,” the statement said.
The statement added that the drone was used for “intelligence and information-gathering purposes.”
The footages showed Hezbollah special forces while training on how to use drones, according to the statement.
The statement noted that in recent months, The Israel Defense Forces 91st Division, also known as the Galilee Formation in the Northern Military Command, has begun to follow a special formation against Hezbollah’s activities via drones.
“The division contributed and strengthened the army’s capabilities to monitor the drones after crossing the border towards Israeli sovereignty, and the new policy recorded a remarkable increase in the number of downed drones by our forces, the last of which was last week,” The statement read.
