ISIS claims responsibility for setting oil well on fire in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), through media outlets close to it, said it was behind burning an oil well in the town of al-Hariji in the north countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
Amaq news agency, linked to ISIS, published a video footage showing ISIS militants setting the Da’as oil well on fire.
An ISIS militant, who was shown in the video, said ISIS will intensify its military actions against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and that the days to come will prove.
A military source of the SDF said ISIS members communicated with the investor of Da’as oil well via WhatsApp demanding $15,000 payment as a royalty and when the investor refused to pay, they burnt the oil well.
Recently, ISIS sleeper cells have intensified their actions in Deir ez-Zor countryside despite security operations carried out by the SDF.
