Casualties toll raises due to Turkish offensive on NE Syria’s Tel Tamr, SDF

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The number of civilian casualties has come up to four in addition to wounded due to  offensive launched by Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed factions in the countryside of Tel Tamr town, northeast Syria.

“Since yesterday morning, Tel Tamr countryside has been targeted by Turkish forces and their mercenaries with more 800 artillery shells,” the Syrian Democratic forces (SDF) Media Center said on Wednesday.

“In light of the continuing Turkish violent shelling, the Turkish forces with the support of the Syrian mercenaries have conducted three infiltration attempts that were foiled by the SDF,” the Media Center added.

Due to the ongoing fierce clashes between the Tel Tamr Military Council, affiliated with the SDF, and the Turkish forces, the number of civilian casualties has come up to four in addition to wounded, according to the SDF Media Center.

Meanwhile, the initial reports indicate that two Turkish-backed militants were killed during the clashes that are still continuing in Umm al-Keif village, north of Tel Tamr, the Media Center noted.

The Turkish forces and the affiliated armed factions’ bombardment of the areas in north of Hasakah, is an attempt to displace the residents of those areas, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) said last night in a statement.
