Israel’s Bennett to UAE in first official visit
ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – On Sunday, Israel’s Prime Ministry spokesperson for the Arab Media Ofir Gendelman announced Naftali Bennett will take off today to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), by invitation from Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
This is the first Israeli premier visit to the UAE since building relations between the two countries last year.
“The two leaders will discuss bilateral deepening ties in economic and regional issues that will contribute to prosperity, welfare and stability,” Gendelman tweeted.
In August 2020, the UAE normalized relations with Israel, with the UAE becoming the third Arab state, besides Egypt and Jordan, and the first Gulf state to sign peace agreements with Israel.
In late June 2020, Israeli’s Foreign Minister Yair lapid visited the UAE and inaugurated the first Israeli embassy in the Gulf states.
