Person killed in drone attack in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A person, believed to be member of the Guardians of Religion Organization, was killed and others were wounded, on Friday, in a drone attack south of Idlib city, northwest Syria.

A drone targeted a motorcycle this morning on Ariha-al-Mastouma Road, south of Idlib, which coincided with the passage of a civilian car, exclusive sources told North Press.

“A person, believed to be affiliated with the Guardians of Religion, was killed in the attack, and at least six civilians were wounded, while they were passing by at the moment of targeting,” the sources added.

The sources indicated that the ambulance teams worked to retrieve the person’s body, and also worked to transfer the wounded to the hospital.

On September 20, a person was killed when a drone targeted his car on the Idlib-Binnish road, east of Idlib.

A day later, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), revealed that the US military had carried out an air strike against a senior al-Qaeda leader in Syria.

Guardians of Religion, affiliated with al-Qaeda, along with other groups, forms F’athbitu (Be Steadfast) Operations Room, which is active militarily in the western countryside of Idlib and the northern countryside of Latakia.
