National Conference decisions are underway: SDC

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) started implementing all the decisions of the National Conference for People of Jazira and Euphrates since the holding of the first conference, co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Amina Omar said on the sidelines of a meeting of the follow-up committee on Fridays.  

In late November, 2020, SDC held the National Conference for People of Jazira and Euphrates which was followed by the formation of a follow-up committee to follow the implementation of the conference’s decisions.

On Friday morning, the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of Conference Resolutions held a meeting in Hasakah city, northeast Syria, in which they discussed the administrative, security and economic issues.  

The meeting was attended by the co-chair of the SDC, Amina Omar, the president of the SDC Executive Committee, Ilham Ahmed, and the SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, in addition to members of the committee, including the co-chair of AANES the Executive Council, Abd Hamed al-Mehbash.  

In an exclusive interview with North Press, Amina Omar added that the decisions of the conference are in the implementation phase, but they need time to be fully implemented.

She pointed out that there are external and internal challenges that hinder the implementation of the conference’s decisions, and she classified the implementation of the conference’s decisions as good.

She stated that they are about to hold the second National Conference for People of Jazira and Euphrates, a year after the first conference was held.
