Turkish-backed factions kidnap three women in north Syria’s Tel Abyad
SULUK, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Turkish-backed armed opposition factions kidnapped three women from the town of Suluk, 20 km east of the city of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, northern Syria.
The factions kidnapped three women in front of a doctor’s clinic in the town, North Press reported a source from the town of Suluk.
“Members of the Syrian National Army (SNA) factions in a pick-up car kidnapped three women, who were waiting for their turns at the doctor’s office and ran away,” the source added.
“The women are still kidnapped and their whereabouts are also unknown. Only one of them could be identified, Sahar al-Khalouf, from the tribe of al-Muradat and comes from the town of Hamam al-Turkman, 30 km east of Tel Abyad,” according to the source.
Last week, the Turkish Intelligence and the affiliated factions kidnapped three civilians from the countryside of Tel Abyad.
The indigenous people of Turkish-controlled Tel Abyad and its outskirts are continuously exposed to kidnapping and blackmail, and are forced to pay a ransom for the exchange of their release.
Since 2019, the Turkish forces, along with their affiliated factions have controlled the city of Tel Abyad and parts of its countryside.
Areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions and supervised by Turkish security and military authorities are witnessing widespread violations and attempts of Turkification, according to local and international reports.
