Turkish attacks are evidence of weakness: Syria’s Manbij Council
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Legislative Council in Manbij, northern Syria, condemned the frequent Turkish targeting of civilian vehicles in northeastern Syria, specifically the city of Kobani.
On October 20, a Turkish drone attacked a car in Kobani city, northern Syria, killing two civilians and wounding four others.
On October 23, another Turkish drone targeted a car in the same city, killing three SDF fighters who were heading to Kobani for treatment.
“We stand against these continued brutal acts by the Turkish state that targets the area and unarmed civilians with drones,” Muhammad Ali Ebbo, co-chair of the Legislative Council in Manbij, said.
He added that the residents of northeastern Syria stand together in the face of “the Turkish occupation and its expansionist projects in the region.”
Ebbo pointed out that all Syrians would like to live in peace with each other, but the situation in northeastern Syria does not appeal to Turkey, and it always seeks to tamper with the security and stability of the region to implement its expansionist projects.
The official also called on the international community and the countries active in the Syrian issue to stand with civilians and assume their moral responsibilities in protecting them from the ongoing Turkish violations of the region.
