Catalonia’s recognition of Autonomous Administration confirms right project: AANES
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Catalonia’s political recognition of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) is a very great achievement, the AANES stated on Thursday.
On Wednesday, and in a first of its kind the Catalan parliament recognized the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria with the approval of 80 out of 129 parliamentarians.
“The recognition is a very great achievement for AANES and confirms the completely right methodology of the self-determination as a solution to the current Syrian crisis,” the Autonomous Administration said in statement.
“The recognition is, as well, a way that ensures the unity of the people and a true democratic dynamic path to represent the will of the community despite its diversity after long decades of deprivation,” the statement added.
“We are grateful for the political recognition granted by our friends in Catalonia and we highly appreciate their historical attitudes,” the statement noted.
On Wednesday, the Catalonia Parliament called its institutions and bodies to have relations with AANES institutes. And 111 parliamentarians approved economic relations with the AANES.
