Four Afrin IDPs children injured by landmine in Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, four displaced children from Afrin were injured to varying severity in the village of Tel Susin in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria, as a result of the explosion of a landmine left over from the war.
“The four children were playing near the village school, when the mine blew up,” Roj Gelko, director of the media office of the Kurdish Red Crescent, said.
“One of the injured was in a critical condition, so he was taken to a hospital in the city of Aleppo,” he added.
According to the Kurdish Red Crescent, the children’s ages range between thirteen and fourteen.
These mines are believed to be of the Islamic State organization (ISIS) when taking control of the area, and they occasionally explode, especially after the arrival of Afrin’s displaced to the northern countryside of Aleppo.
It is noteworthy that the number of dead and injured from Afrin’s displaced, as a result of mine explosions in the northern countryside of Aleppo, has reached about 100 victims since March 2018, according to the Kurdish Red Crescent.
