Assad receives Russian delegation in Damascus
HASKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed counter-terrorism and economic cooperation with a high-level Russian delegation.
Earlier on Sunday, Assad received Russian President’s Special Envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Vershinin and the accompanying delegation, according to the pro-government news agency SANA.
“Moscow is ready to actively contribute to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the infrastructure that was destroyed by terrorism,” SANA reported the two Russian diplomats.
The meeting discussed “the developments of the situation on the ground in Syria, and the meetings of the Constitution Committee,” according to the agency.
