Syria’s northwest records hundreds of coronavirus infections

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Syrian Interim Government of the opposition Syrian National Coalition announced the recording of 784 new cases of coronavirus, 503 recoveries and seven deaths in the Idlib and Aleppo countryside, northwest Syria.

It indicated that it conducted tests for 1,428 suspected cases in its areas.

With the newly announced figures, the total number of coronavirus infections in the opposition-controlled areas has risen to 80,052, including 1,507 deaths and 46,012 recoveries.

Various Syrian regions witnessed a significant increase in the number of recorded coronavirus infections and deaths, despite the arrival of the vaccines to most of those areas.
