Turkish-backed factions arrest ten civilians in Syria’s Afrin
ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Turkish-backed Mu’tasim Billah faction and the Military Police arrested two residents from Rajo district in Afrin countryside, northern Syria.
Members of the faction, with support of the Military Police, stormed the village of Ma’melo in Rajo district and arrested ten residents of the village without knowing the reasons for the arrest, an exclusive source said.
The source added that the arrest campaign took place in a barbaric manner by surrounding the village with more than 15 military vehicles, randomly raiding the houses, and then taking them to the Military Police headquarters in Rajo town center.
The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.
The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.
