Government forces bomb opposition factions in northwest Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Syrian government forces bombed Turkish-backed armed opposition factions’ sites in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, northwest Syria, causing material damage.
The government forces, stationed in the town of Kafranbel, bombed the opposition factions’ sites in the towns of al-Bara, Belyon and Kansafra in the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, with rockets and heavy artillery shells, sources of the opposition factions told North Press.
The bombing resulted in the destruction of private properties as a result of targeting residential neighborhoods, the sources added.
The positions of the factions’ sites near the town of Duwair al-Akrad in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama, were also hit by a similar shelling with heavy artillery and rocket launchers.
Earlier today, Russian warplanes bombed the town of al-Kinda and its outskirts in the Jisr al-Shughur area, west of Idlib.
The opposition responded to the government forces through al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes several factions, by targeting the government forces’ points near the towns of Hazarin and Tarmala in the southern countryside of Idlib, with artillery shells.
It also targeted the government forces’ sites stationed in the city of Saraqib in the eastern countryside of Idlib.
For months, the northwestern regions of Syria have been witnessing mutual bombardment between the two sides of the conflict in different areas, amid reports that the government forces have brought in more reinforcements to the region.
