Government’s settlements continue to Daraa northern countryside
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the security services of the Syrian government forces entered the town of Jassem in the northern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, accompanied by the Russian Military Police (MP) and notables of the city.
The security services turned the building of the Cultural Center into a settlement center to settle the status of wanted persons and oversee the handing of a number of light weapons, local sources said.
The sources added that both the Russian and the Syrian government flags were raised over the building in conjunction with the settlement of the wanted persons and handing a number of light weapons.
According to the sources, the settlement includes the city of al-Hara and the town of Nimr, and those who wish to make a settlement will go to the settlement center in Jassem town.
After finishing the settlement process, the government forces, accompanied by the Russian MP will search some houses in the town.
The entry of the security services into the town comes in implementation of the agreement reached between the government forces and the region’s notables brokered by Russia to settle the status of wanted persons in a number of towns and villages in the northern countryside of Daraa.
Yesterday, on Saturday, the security committee of the Syrian government completed the settlement of the status of some wanted individuals with the presence of Russian MP in the town of Nawa, in the western countryside of Daraa.
The government forces had entered the cities and towns of al-Yadouda, al-Muzairib, Tafas, Tel Shihab, Sahm Golan, al-Shajara, Da’el, Tsil and others in the western countryside of Daraa.
These steps come as a continuation of the agreement held in early September between the Central Committee and the government forces brokered by Russia.
Daraa was subjected to a suffocating siege imposed by Iranian-backed factions and the government forces for more than two months. Finally, an agreement was reached between the parties to the conflict brokered by Russia on a ceasefire and the entry of government forces into the besieged neighborhoods.
