Coronavirus vaccinations continue in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Ahmed Hilal, the co-chair of the Manbij Health Committee, said on Thursday that the population’s turnout for coronavirus vaccine is decent, but not at the required level.
Two days ago, the Health Committee in Manbij city started the second phase of the coronavirus vaccine after completing the vaccination of the health staff in the city.
On July 3, a batch of Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, estimated at 100 doses provided by the World Health Organization, arrived in the city of Manbij.
Hilal added that most of the people are still afraid of the vaccine, and some do not believe in the existence of coronavirus.
Since August 20 to September 20, the Health Committee in Manbij recorded 30 coronavirus infections, in addition to two deaths and ten recoveries.
Hilal said that the Health Committee gave approval to 300 people, because the vaccine is not given to those who request to be vaccinated, except with a personal pledge and signature at the headquarters of the Health Committee.
The vaccine arrives in the city of Manbij in batches to vaccinate the entire population of the city, according to the Manbij Health Committee.
The vaccination process, according to the official, will be by intramuscular injection in the form of two doses separated by a week, and the vaccination will be on Monday and Wednesday of each week.
