Seminar on war effects on the youth held in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Youth and Sports Board of the Euphrates Region in the city of Kobani, northern Syria, held a seminar on the effects of war on the youth and community.
During the seminar, the participants stressed the importance of the role of awareness in mitigating the effects of the war on the society, especially the youth.
“The youth participating in the seminar, discussed the problems facing the youth and the society in light of the war launched in the region,” Bozan Barkal, co-chair of the Youth and Sports Board of the Euphrates Region, told North Press.
“The importance of the role of awareness was also discussed to reduce the effects of war on society such as the phenomenon of suicide and the marriage of the underage, in addition to opening the way for the youth and the women to work and help them economically,” he added.
Barkal pointed out that the participants presented their suggestions to develop solutions that would mitigate the impacts of the war.
He stated that the seminar ended with a number of outputs the forefront of which was the importance of training youth, spreading awareness among all segments of society, and establishing small projects to support youth economically.
The seminar included two lectures, the first was given by the vice-presidency of Kobani University, Shervan Muslim, where it was about the private war and its methods and how to target young people, and the second was given by member of the Sara Organization to Combat Violence against Women in the Euphrates Region, which focused on the phenomenon of suicide among women, its causes and consequences.
