Government forces target opposition fortifications in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Syrian government forces bombed the positions of the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions in the western countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria, with shells and rockets.
Military sources of the opposition told North Press that today’s morning, the government forces bombed the fortifications of the opposition factions in the villages and towns of Bahfis, Tedil and Kafr Ta’al in the western countryside of Aleppo.
“The bombing resulted in widespread destruction, but no casualties among civilians or soldiers were reported,” the source added.
The bombing coincided with intense flight of warplanes and reconnaissance planes on Idlib, Hama and Aleppo, without recording any air strike, according to the same sources.
Last night, the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes several factions, claimed that it targeted military gatherings of the government forces of the 46th Regiment in the western countryside of Aleppo, and the town of Malajah, south of Idlib governorate, with mortars and heavy artillery shells.
The de-escalation zone is witnessing a military escalation despite the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in March 2020.
