HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, unidentified persons believed to be affiliated with ISIS sleeper cells killed a Syrian displaced person in Hawl Camp, east Hasakah, northeast Syria.
Jalal Muhammad Mutlaq al-Azzawi, a man in his fifties from the city of al-Asharah in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, was found shot in the head in one of the camp sectors, a security source told North Press.
Hawl Camp houses more than 16,000 families, or approximately 60,000 people, of about 50 nationalities, the majority of whom are Iraqis and Syrians.
Since mid-April, the camp, which is located on the southern side of the town of al-Hawl, has recorded about 24 killings of Syrians and Iraqis in the camp using guns, according to security sources (Asayish).
