Opposition factions target government forces in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the armed opposition factions targeted sites of the Syrian government forces in the countryside of Idlib and Latakia, northwest Syria, while the latter continued to bombard sites of the armed factions, south of Idlib.
Opposition military sources told North Press that the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room targeted positions of the government forces in the village of al-Dar al-Kabira and the vicinity of Hazarin town, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery and mortar shells.
“The al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room also targeted the positions of the government forces on the axis of the Tal al-Malek in Jabal al-Akrad, north of Latakia governorate, with artillery shells,” the sources added.
The mutual bombing between the two sides coincided with an intense flight of Russian reconnaissance planes over Idlib and the countryside of Hama, Aleppo and Latakia, northwest Syria.
This morning, the government forces bombed the factions’ sites on the western outskirts of Idlib for the first time in months, from their positions in Saraqib, east of the city.
