Iraqi refugees killed in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Friday at dawn, two Iraqi refugees were killed in Hawl Camp, east Hasakah, northeast Syria.

Iraqi refugee Qahtan Ahmad Hassan was found shot in the head on Friday at dawn, a security source from the camp said.

Meanwhile, Iraqi refugee Ahmed Fayeq Harobi was found shot in the head and the chest on Thursday evening.

The source added that the two refugees were residing in the first sector  of Iraqi refugees in Hawl Camp.

With these two murders, the number of murders has reached to 19 following the security campaign that was launched by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) with the support of SDF on March 28.

On Thursday, two other Iraq refugees, a man and a woman, were killed via bullets in the first sector of the camp.

Since early 2021, Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells have killed more than 47 individuals inside the camp, according to a statement by Asayish followed a security campaign, during which 150 individuals, who were accused of being involved in killing incidents in the camp, were arrested.
