Government forces target Turkish-backed factions in Syria’s Idlib, Hama
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the second day of Eid al-Adha, Syrian government forces renewed their artillery and missile shelling against posts of Turkish-backed armed factions in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, northwest Syria.
The government forces targeted posts of the factions in the villages and towns of Mjdlya, Ma’ar Balit, al-Bara, al-Fatira, Binin, Kafar Aweed, and the outskirts of Kansafra, south Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and rockets, military sources from the factions told North Press.
Meanwhile, government shelling from the surrounding checkpoints caused damage to private and public possessions, reporting no casualties, as well as the shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian drones.
For about two months, de-escalation zone in areas in Idlib, Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia have been witnessing military escalation and mutual shelling between the government forces and Turkish-backed factions.
