National Defense arrests shepherds in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor for dealing with ISIS
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of the Syrian government forces arrested four shepherds and confiscated their livestock in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
The shepherds were arrested on charges of “affiliation with ISIS and aiding its sleeper cells,” said Ibrahim al-Abdullah, a pseudonym for a member of the Russian-backed Fifth Corps.
He added that 20 sheep were confiscated and sent to the eastern countryside, while the arrested were sent to the NDF headquarters in al-Tenbi town, west of Deir ez-Zor.
The arbitrary detention on charges of affiliation with ISIS aims at confiscating the livestock, according to the region’s residents.
