First conference for teachers of northeast Syria holds in Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Teachers Union of North and East Syria held its first conference in the city of Hasakah with attendance of 160 members from several regions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
“They number of teachers in northeast Syria reached 40,000 which required holding a conference for the Union which was established in 2014,” said Nisreen Rashk, co-chair of Teachers’ Union in Northeast Syria.
“160 teachers as delegates from all regions of northeast Syria attended the conference according to the number of teachers in each region,” she added.
Rashk pointed out that holding the conference was a necessity to develop teachers’ work and find solutions to their problems in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through.
The conference, which was held at the Sardam Center for Culture and Art in the al-Mesheirfa neighborhood in the city of Hasakah, carried the slogan, “With Teachers’ Union, We Build Peoples’ Union.”
The internal system of the Teachers’ Union of North and East Syria included 11 chapters comprising 190 articles explaining the tasks and duties of the members and their rights to effectively participate in various fields of work within the schools and institutions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
