Syrian government-held areas record 42 new coronavirus cases
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 42 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas of control.
The government’s media office stated on its Facebook account that the new deaths were two in Damascus, two in Aleppo, and one in Deir ez-Zor.
Meanwhile, the media office announced the recording of nine new recoveries.
The new cases were 24 in Aleppo, seven in Hama, four in Homs, three in Latakia, two in Damascus, one each in Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah.
The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 24,964, including 1,826 deaths and 21,699 recoveries.
On Tuesday, the government-held areas recorded 44 new coronavirus infections, six deaths, and eight recoveries.
