Casualties in government bombardment of Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, two civilians were killed and others were wounded due to government forces’ bombardment on positions of Turkish-backed opposition groups in the countryside of Latakia and Idlib, northwest Syria.
Meanwhile, government forces targeted the villages and towns of al-Bara, Balshoon, al-Fatirah, Kafr Awaid in Zawiya Mountain with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers, military sources from the opposition told North Press.
Two people were killed and three others were wounded and were taken to medical points near the area, according to the sources.
The same sources said that government forces stationed in the countryside of Lattakia targeted a car near the village of Tel Awar in the Jisr al-Shughour area, west of Idlib, with a guided missile.
The government forces also targeted another car in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama, but no casualties were reported, according to the same sources.
Yesterday evening, the de-escalation zone in the countryside of Idlib, Hama, and Latakia witnessed an intense escalation and mutual bombardment between opposition armed groups and government forces.
