Seminar held in Syria’s Raqqa on women’s role in society
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a seminar entitled “Women’s Laboratory” was held to discuss the role of women in society and the problems and obstacles they face, in the city of Raqqa, northeast Syria.
The seminar, which was organized by the local Pel Organization, was attended by representatives of the Autonomous Administration, women workers, figures from society activities in Raqqa and civil activists.
The two-day activity was part of a series of societal events organized by the organization with the aim of “enhancing social cohesion and supporting the social relations that exist between the local communities in the city of Raqqa.”
Ayham al-Khalaf, The coordinator of the activities of the organization, Ayham al-Khalaf, told North Press that the event addressed the social problems that affect women, including the role of women in public affairs, peace building and their role within work fields.
Since April, Pel Organisation has launched a building project under the motto “Our Country is One” with the aim of “strengthening social cohesion.”
The seminar also touched on the most important societal issues, such as “underage marriage, inheritance and their impact on women, and the impact of coronavirus.”
