Five deaths, 25 new coronavirus cases recorded in Syria’s northeast

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 25 new cases of coronavirus and five deaths in the regions of northeast Syria.

The official Autonomous Administration account on Facebook cited Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Board, saying that the deaths are for a woman from Qamishli, two men and two women from Tabqa.

The infections were 11 in Deir ez-Zor, five in Hasakah, four in Raqqa, two each in Derbasiya and Hawl Camp, and one in Qamishli.

The Health Board also recorded eight recoveries.

With the announcement of these new infections, the number of coronavirus cases in northeast Syria has risen to 18,061, including 737 deaths and 1,837 recoveries.
