IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday,Ministry of Economy of Salvation Government in Idlib, northwest Syria, set the purchase price of wheat for 2021 season at $300 per ton.
“The purchase prices of durum wheat is set by General Corporation for Grain Trade and Processing at $300 per ton,” the Government said in a statement.
According to the decision, the purchase price of each kilogram of durum wheat is 30 cents (equivalent to about 950 Syrian pounds).
Last year, the Salvation Government set the purchase price of wheat at $240 per ton.
On March 9, the Syrian government raised the purchase price of wheat from 550 to 900 Syrian pounds (SYP) for each kilo (equivalent to about $274 per ton).
Meanwhile, on May 19, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) set the purchase price for wheat for the current season at 1,150 SYP per kilo (equivalent to about $360 per ton).
