63 new coronavirus cases recorded in Syrian government-held areas

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 63 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas of control. 

The government’s media office stated on its Facebook account that the new deaths were two in Damascus and one each in Latakia, Aleppo, and Homs. 

Meanwhile, the media office announced the recording of eight new recoveries.

Recently, Syrian government-held areas have been witnessing a remarkable decrease in coronavirus infections.

The new cases were 25 in Aleppo, nine in Damascus, six each in Homs and Tartus, five each in Latakia and Deir ez-Zor, four in Hama, two in Rif Dimashq and one in Raqqa.

The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 24,315, including 1,750 deaths and 21,577 recoveries.
