Syria’s AANES helps rehabilitate child victims of ISIS ideology
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria delivered a batch of educational materials and equipment to the Hori Center for the Rehabilitation of Children in the countryside of the city of Qamishli.
Hori Center, in the village of Tel Marouf, is the first specialized center for the rehabilitation of child victims of extremist ideology in northeast Syria, and it is home to a number of children formerly involved with ISIS members.
The center, which was set up four years ago in the village of Tel Marouf, aims to rehabilitate children and reintegrate them back into civil society.
The equipment that was delivered during a visit by officials in the Autonomous Administration’s Office of Reform Affairs included educational books, projection devices, and other materials necessary for education.
A statement on behalf of the Reform Affairs Office in the Autonomous Administration said that this support is part of the fight against the Islamic State and extremist ideology in the region.
“These children are the victims of war and the conditions that the region has gone through over the past years,” said Serteeb Ali, an official in the Office of Reform Affairs, said in an interview with North Press.
“The support we provided included logistical materials, such as projection devices, teaching devices, office stationery and educational books for the rehabilitation of these children,” Ali added.
