Unidentified persons kill SDF member in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed by unidentified gunmen in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

A local source in the town of al-Sa’wa, west of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unidentified gunmen shot an SDF member to death and fled.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing large-scale assassinations targeting SDF members, civil administration employees, tribal notables, and civilian residents, some of which ISIS has claimed responsibility for.

Two days ago, the imam and muezzin of the mosque of the town of al-Busirah, east of Deir ez-Zor, were wounded by unidentified gunmen.

The Syrian Democratic Forces have been intensifying their security campaigns on the villages and towns of the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor to pursue ISIS cells.
