Syrian government and opposition exchange bombing in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed military escalation and mutual bombardment between Syrian government forces and opposition groups in the countryside of Idlib, Hama and Latakia.
Military sources in the opposition told North Press that government forces targeted positions of opposition groups in the towns of Shugarit, Khirbet al-Naqus, al-Ziyarah, and al-Ankawi, located in Ghab Plain region in the western Hama countryside with heavy artillery.
The government bombing hit the sites of opposition groups near the Kabanah hills north of Latakia, without information reported about casualties, according to the same sources.
On Friday evening, Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the Army of Glory (Jaysh al-Izza), as well as the National Liberation Front affiliated with the National Army, announced that several government forces’ members had been killed and injured near Jabal al-Akrad, north of Latakia.
About Syrian government members were killed and 10 others were wounded in the targeting operation in the aforementioned area, according to the sources.
