SDF members killed and injured in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) lost their lives and another was wounded when unidentified gunmen targeted them in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
A local military source in the town of al-Sabha, 30 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorbike fired at a military vehicle of the SDF near the irrigation canal in the town.
One of the members died of his injuries, while another wounded person was transferred to the military hospital in al-Omar field for treatment, the source added.
In the town of al-Busira, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor unidentified gunmen shot dead a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces near the cultural center in the town.
Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing large-scale assassinations of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration there, tribal notables and civilian residents, where ISIS claimed some of them.
On Thursday at dawn, the Syrian Democratic Forces dismantled an ISIS cell, arresting 39 members in the town of Shuhail in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
