Opposition mine injures shepherd, and kills sheep in Syria’s Hasakah
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the explosion of a landmine laid by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups injured a shepherd and killed a number of his sheep in the countryside of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
A North Press correspondent from the town said that on Thursday evening, a 30-year-old man named Ayman Ismail Abdullah arrived at the Martyr Legerin Hospital in Tel Tamr with some injuries.
The shepherd was injured by a landmine while grazing his sheep near the line of contact with the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups, according to the injured person’s relatives.
The explosion also killed two of Abdullah’s sheep and wounded him with shrapnel.
According to doctors at the hospital, the 30-year-old man was lightly wounded, and he was brought home after receiving necessary treatment.
Turkish forces and the opposition groups have stationed on the outskirts of the town of Tel Tamr since late 2019, after they invaded the cities of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad.
