Government forces bombard opposition sites in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Syrian government forces targeted many locations of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the western countryside of Aleppo.
The government forces targeted the locations of the opposition groups in the towns of Sufuhn, al-Fateira and al-Bara in Zawiya Mountain region in the southern countryside of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells, military sources of the opposition told North Press.
The government’s bombardment also coincided with an intense flight of Russian drones in the areas of Idlib, Hama and Latakia, without reporting any casualties.
Yesterday at night, sources of al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and other armed groups, announced that they targeted locations of the government forces in towns of al-Dar al-Kabira and Malajah, south of Idlib.
The armed group Ansar al-Tawhid shelled Syrian government sites in towns of Miznaz, Jadriya, and Kafr Halab in the western countryside of Aleppo, according to the source.
Areas of northwest Syria are included in the ceasefire agreement signed by Turkey and Russia in March 2020, after a military campaign in the region.
