Unknowns shot a person in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, unidentified individuals, who were riding a motorbike, shot a person, said to be a civilian, in the town of Abu Hardoub in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Masked gunmen fired at the youth Abdelhamid Abdelghani in the neck, to be hospitalized later, a local source said.      

The source added that the gunmen escaped following the firing.

While the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) have not yet issued any statement regarding the incident.

The eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside has been recently witnessing assassinations carried out against SDF members, employees of the civil administration, tribal figures, and civilians.

On April 26, the SDF issued a decision banning motorcycle travel in the town of al-Shuhail, 40 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, starts on April 26, until further notice.

SDF are intensifying their security efforts to pursue ISIS members in the region.
