Syria’s AANES records three deaths, 101 coronavirus infections in its regions

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 101 new coronavirus infections and three deaths in northeast Syria. 

AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths are two women and a man from Qamishli.

Recently, the AANES-held areas have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections.

The recorded infections were 44 in Qamishli, 21 in Hasakah, 9 in Raqqa, 14 in Derik, 5 in Girke Lege, 3 in Amuda and 2 in Derbasiyah.

There were also 3 cases in Shahba area in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where those displaced by the Turkish invasion on Afrin, reside.

Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 7 new recoveries.

With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 9,766 confirmed cases, including 372 deaths and 1,300 recoveries.
