ENKS leader reveals attempts to resume intra-Kurdish dialogue
ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Sunday, a leader of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), Ne’mat Dawoud, said that the intra-Kurdish dialogue has not finished, but it is suspended for now, indicating to a meeting held between the ENKS and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander-in-Chief, General Mazloum Abdi, on March 13.
“Work is ongoing to resume the dialogue,” stating that the contact with the sponsors – SDF Commander-in-Chief and US envoy – is going on.
“We discussed with them how to create a positive atmosphere to resume the dialogue,” he added.
Dawoud pointed out that there are American schedules and programs they need to complete before resuming the dialogue.
He renewed ENKS’s cling to “succeed the dialogue and unify the Kurdish discourse to serve the Kurdish issue in Syria and find a solve for it.”
Two days ago, media websites posted statements attributed to the US envoy, stating that he informed the delegation of the Kurdish National Unity Parties that “the intra-Kurdish dialogue will continue even without the ENKS.”
Regarding these statements, Dawoud said, “There are parties harmed by these negotiations and trying to create obstacles, and the American envoy denied such statements.”
